La Conchita de Cabuya is a secluded beachfront hideaway near the entrance to Costa Rica's dramatic Cabo Blanco Reserve. La Conchita is a furnished two bedroom house located in Cabuya at the tip of Costa Rica's Pacific north-western Nicoya Peninsula. It is a perfect accommodation for the adventurous visitor who appreciates comfort in a remote location.
Location
La Conchita is situated in the
village of Cabuya, approximately 7 km southwest of the town of Montezuma.
Just 4 km
to the southwest lies the Cabo Blanco Absolute Nature Reserve, one of the most
fascinating wilderness areas in the
Costa Rican park system. The park hosts a remarkable variety of plant and animal
species. the beach at La Conchita
is sandy above a rocky intertidal zone. Swimming and snorkeling beaches are nearby
on the road to Montezuma or inland road to the Pacific Coast.
Getting There, Staying There, Getting Around
The trip to La Conchita
can be made in a rental vehicle, by air into Tambor, or via public
transportation. To drive
there a four-wheel drive is recommended. Air travel is available from San
Jose to Tambor on Travelair from Pavas
Airport or on Sansa Airlines located in the domestic terminal of Juan Santamaria
International Airport. The journey
by public transportation starts with a bus ride from San Jose to Puntarenas, a
passenger ferry from Puntarenas to
Paquera on the Nicoya Peninsula where it is recommended to hire a private taxi
for the rest of the trip to Cabuya.
La Conchita accommodates up to eight guests comfortably. Each bedroom has a double bed and a set of bunk beds. Linens are provided, as are cooking and eating utensils. Limited food shopping is available in Cabuya and Montezuma. Nearby Cobano offers a greater selection of stores. Both Cabuya and Montezuma have a variety of good localrestaurants.
Horses, bicycles, cars, taxis, kayaks and other means of transportation can be rented in Cabuya or Montezuma. Tours of the area including trips to Tortuga Island, Cabo Blanco Reserve, Mal Pais and surrounding communities are available seasonally.
Rates, Terms and Conditions
Rates are available on a daily (3 day minimum stay), weekly, or monthly
basis. Rates vary with the number of
occupants and include laundry and cleaning services. Peak season rates,
terms and conditions may vary.

A deposit of $250.00 is required to confirm a reservations. The deposit
must be received within seven days
after the reservation is made or the reservations will be automatically
cancelled.
Final payment must be received 45 days prior to arrival. If not received
reservations will be cancelled and deposit forfeited. At the time of final payment a security deposit of
$250.00 will be
collected. This deposit will be refunded
within two weeks of departure from La Conchita provided that no charges were
assessed for damage or loss and all house keys have been properly returned.
Reservation changes are subject to a fee of $25.00 per changes and will be assessed after reservation has been confirmed. Date changes will only be accepted 45 days prior to arrival or cancellation fees will apply.
